ROADTRIP to MILWAUKEE: Go Brewers, Milwaukee Zoo and Family Caricatures. MSN 🚘MKE
Continuing with our I Love Madison ROADTRIP series, we take a trip to Milwaukee. Located 73 miles east of Madison, it took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get there. It was only two “are-we-there-yet’s” from the back seat. So not far at all.
The first day we went to the Milwaukee County Zoo. The zoo in Madison (Henry Vilas Zoo) is fantastic (and free), but the Milwaukee County Zoo is worth the trip for. We also stopped to get a family caricature drawn of us. Good times!
Travel Tip: We stayed at the new Hyatt Place Milwaukee/Downtown. It’s located next to the new Milwaukee Bucks stadium. The rooms were super spacious and modern. Great full (eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, etc.) breakfast in the morning. And we got a reasonable price on the rooms. I was super impressed and will be staying there when we go to Milwaukee in the future. Highly recommend it.
Another place we found that we really liked is called Simple Cafe Milwaukee. We went their for breakfast on Monday before heading back to Madison. Super impressed!
The next morning, after stopping at Colectivo Coffee for coffee, we went to Miller Park to watch the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Detroit Tigers. We were hoping this was the BIG game. It was the last regular season game for the Brewers. If we won and the Chicago Cubs lost, the Brewers would be crowned National League Central Division Champions.
Come along with us to see it all unfold…
